| happy girls |
Unfortunately, the camera took the picture before I was able to produce my own matching chin drool.
This weekend, I finally got to revel in one of my most favorite things to do. It was too hot to stay in the house, so we played outside. Hello Okrahoma weather, do ya know it's November? But I'm not complaining because it was perfect. I let Lauren run around barefoot in her dress, after I cleared the area of dog poo presents, of course. I took a picnic blanket outside and spread it out on the grass. The sun was warm on my skin and the slight breeze was like a 7-11 slurpee after a week-long vacation in Haiti.
I laid down on my stomach and placed my heavy thoughts on my crossed arms. My red flip flops swayed in the air like sunflower stalks. Soon I felt a tug on my toes and looked up to see the little whipper snapper chopping down on a mouthful of red rubber flip flop.
She soon bored with her half dead mommy sprawled out on the blanket and made up a little game I call "Ring around the rigor mortis." She giggled as she trekked an oval path around my body, at times resulting in a figure eight, and at other times the "all fall down" happened on my outstretched leg or head.
She had me giggling like a school girl, and I hope this weather hangs around a little while longer so we can play "ring around the stinky unshaven hardworking daddy." He worked so hard on my craft room in the shop this weekend, I ain't complainin'. Thank you so much, my deer. You are too good to us. |
