Baby Lauren

Wife to husband, Rancito, of 4 years. Mother of one-year old daughter, Lauren, two mini wiener dogs that I refer to as Farkota, and one big mutt named Champ. This is my way of telling Lauren I have loved her since the day I saw her tiny bean body on the ultrasound screen.

Hoping My Daughter Won't Sound Like a Hick
My mom, dad, brother, and I were all born in North Dakota. We moved here when I was about three or four. So, I'm basically an Okie. My mom and dad don't sound like our North Dakota relatives in my opinion, but many of my friends think my dad has a funny accent. I still have some Northern influences in my vocabulary however. It kills me to say aunt like "ant" instead of "ont" even though I've tried to change how I say it so the Southerners stop looking at me funny. "It's "ant" ya dumb yank!" So I took this goofy little quiz and I'm pleased with my results. Hopefully my daughter will grow up without sounding too redneck.
