| We Like to Party |

I finished Lauren's birthday invitations tonight. Thank Google for Target and these cute little clearance numbers. As I was filling them out, I kind of wondered why I was going to all the trouble. It's just family and neighbors. When they see the huge inflatable obstacle course and ferris wheel in the backyard, they'll know it's time to head over. Ah, what the heck. Lauren only turns one once, right? Next year we'll keep it low key with some leftover Krispy Kremes and a trip to the grocery store for a couple of $.25 rides on the space shuttle.
I thought and thought about some kind of theme for Lauren's party. She isn't all that interested in television, so that eliminated 99.9% of all themed party supplies. But there is one thing I know she likes: balloons. So I grabbed some balloon themed plates at Target and used my free March of Dimes balloon address labels and I made myself a little theme! I'm still having a little trouble trying to figure out how to incorporate the butterfly pinata...
The plan is to buy a diaperpail-full of balloons and fill half with helium and the other half with lung air and the other half with water. Okay, so we already have a stash set aside for the last part. Rancito, we've got some payback to attend to come party time.
And if you were wondering, my 10 invitations to family and neighbors invites 30 PEOPLE! My left arm just went numb. Yikes! |
