| Like Mother, Like Daughter (or not) |

I've been wanting to do this post for awhile. The picture in the upper left hand corner is not some random meat and potato eating chunk baby, that's me in all of my breastfed Michelin man glory at 7 1/2 months. The picture of Rance in the lower right is undated, so he could be 15 in that picture for all I know (or at least I can imagine he acted the age of the child in that picture when he was 15). Don't all pubescent boys act that way?
So, let's compare photos, shall we? Obviously, I was on a 2500 calorie a day diet when I was 7 1/2 months old. I'm a little thin on the top and I had to squint while smiling because my cheeks were so big. Also note my doo-doo brown eyes, while Lauren's are more like a bright blue summer sky. We are both wearing clothing with orange on it. That ends the comparison between mom and dot.
On to Lauren and Rance. They are both wearing orange, on their heads. The side by side photo collage now enlightens me to the genetic whereabouts of that darling mop of hair on her head. Of course, I must note that mommy has way less of a receding hairline than daddy these days. Another noteworthy detail is that the adorability of Lauren has roots in her daddy's childhood. Who didn't smile when they saw that bottle tucked smartly into Rance's infant overalls? Rance's adorable factor has waned in the years since this photo was taken, but there's no doubt in my mind that Rance was a cute little stinker in his younger years.
End of Round 1, Rance wins by TKO.
