This picture is from Lauren's first bath in a bathtub from Wednesday night. She didn't quite know what to think of her new swimming pool. Don't you like the grandma-esqe bathtub stickers? They're a remnant from the pregnancy days. My tub was so slick, I had to do some preventative maintenance. There was no way I was going to slip and fall and have to call the paramedics. The only people I allowed to see me naked while pregnant were Rance, the OB-GYN, and his nurse. Hopefully, it will stay that way for the rest of my life.
This is the kind of picture that the Blogging Mommies website warns about. Do you really want your child's schoolmates coming across pictures such as these and embarrassing your kid? Yes, because that's what kid's do. There's nothing I can do to shield my child from bullying and name-calling, so I might as well add fuel to the fire. It's odd how my brain works. I'm kind of afraid that it's going to be donated to science after I'm gone.
Lauren was quite the acrobatic gymnast today. We decided after the cord incident that it was time to graduate Lauren to a playpen. BTW, the cord incident was repeated again today, although with a much less voltage consuming device. We were playing on the computer when she grabbed my piece of junk Viking flash memory reader that broke yesterday. Instead of exploring the rubber and plastic shell of the device, she went straight for the cord.
Sorry about that, I veered so far off course I forgot what the topic sentence of the last paragraph was. Oh, the gymnast. She was one her back slugging back a bottle and all of a sudden she starts doing this toe to knee kick, a la Rockettes style. She did it for a good three minutes. I was dying laughing, it was so adorable. She's got some moves. Later on she was in push-up mode when all of a sudden she decided to do a downward facing dog. I couldn't believe how flexible this little chunk was. She's been eating her toes for a good few weeks now, but the new yoga pose was a treat.
By the way, hubby, thank you for taking the time to do yardwork today. You were so kind to weed my garden and till it up. You are such a sweetheart. Hopefully I'll get some tomatoes, squash, jalepenos, cilantro, cucumers, and okra planted this week. Ah, I love a good garden. |
