Last night I realized I didn't have any clean pajamas, so I went to bed in my birthday suit and a pair of skivvies. I woke up about 6:30am and Farley was being particularly clingy, so I thought he was probably needing to use the animal outhouse. I let him out and called for Dakota. She's older, so it takes a while for her joints to lube up enough that she can crawl out of bed. She finally sauntered over to the back door and sat about 5 feet away. I opened the door for her to go out and Farley flies in. I open the door up all the way and yell, "Out!" Maybe it was the cool breeze or the neighbors standing on the back porch, but I finally realized I was standing almost stark nay-ked in front of a wide open door. Oh well, if I run into the neighbors soon, I suppose I can tell them, "I have nothing to hide."
Lauren is a little babblefish this morning. "Bah, bah, bah, bah, da, da!" Yep, that's right I heard a distinct "Da, Da" and Rance was nowhere around. I know she's just vocalizing, not really aware that she actually said a word, but it was cute nonetheless. From that point on though, the only words she heard me say to her were, "Ma ma ma ma ma." Hey, I've got to have a fighting chance.
My parents are arriving today so that my mom and I can go to my brother and sis-in-laws couples baby shower. I suppose it's okay that we're going as a couple since we're related to the honoree. Rance and Dad are going to work on his shop, so I guess they thought that was a good enough excuse. We'll see. |
