Baby Lauren

Wife to husband, Rancito, of 4 years. Mother of one-year old daughter, Lauren, two mini wiener dogs that I refer to as Farkota, and one big mutt named Champ. This is my way of telling Lauren I have loved her since the day I saw her tiny bean body on the ultrasound screen.

How to Get Sick, Step 5

Although this is probably illegal in 48 states, I just had to post this oldie of Lauren and cousin Matthew. If only Matthew didn't look like he was about to plant one on. She is a cutie, so I can't really blame him.

Lauren had a bad night, and sweet Rancito stayed up and medicated her into the wee hours. She was still sizzling this morning when I left for work. I might as well have stayed home for all the times I kept calling Rancito for an update...and waking him up. I wanted to. Oh, how I wanted to stay home.

She was able to take 45 minute naps off and on and finally cracked a smile for daddy and played some this afternoon when the fever broke. Her nose is really runny with Slimer goo. I tried to take a nap with her this afternoon and she was so snotty and gurgly that it was like trying to sleep with a hyena sporting a deviated septum. Or so I've heard.

Thank you all for your thoughts, vibes, karma, and especially your prayers. I know it's hard to sympathize with new parents sometimes, but I'm scared to death of fevers. There are way too many freaky names asscociated with fever: Scarlett Fever, Spotted Fever, Typhoid Fever, Yellow Fever, Cabin Fever, Saturday Night Fever.

I'm so relieved that she's getting better.
